Katikati Twilight Concerts heading

The Lady Killers

with Chet O’Connell

Saturday January 6, 2018

Around 1200 people were treated to a spectacular performance by The Lady Killers when they opened the 2018 Summer Concert series, celebrating the twentieth year of Twilight Concerts in Katikati.

As they entered the park, concertgoers were greeted by a group of seasonal workers from Vanuatu entertaining in their traditional style, lending a really happy vibe to the atmosphere.

The show was opened by Chet and Melissa O’Connell, who set the scene for a great night. MC Dave Wilson had the thrill of a lifetime when he sang a duet with Jackie Clarke to fulfil a lifelong wish… the crowd loved it. Then it was time for the main act: Jackie Clarke, Suzanne Lynch and Tina Cross… The Lady Killers showed what true rock divas they are, as they belted out familiar tunes one after the other.

The crowd loved it and picnics were foregone in favour of a few moves on the dancefloor. Popular numbers like Just One Look, Son of a Preacher Man, Sweet Child of Mine and April Sun had loads of people on their feet… photos below.

A great opener to the season! Look out for the next concert – January 27th – when Landslide will be in town to perform a tribute to the amazing Fleetwood Mac.
